Joshua Pennish

My Martial Arts journey started at the age of 7 on June 19, 1995. This was a day that changed my life forever, for the better.
However, my family has been a part of the Team Karate Centers family since January 1991 when my father, David Pennish, started training at TKC. He ended up earning his 2nd Degree Black Belt and becoming an instructor for TKC. Actually, I am the first 2nd generation instructor for TKC, which is pretty cool. Also, my brother Justin is a student at TKC.
I have so many memories and have had so many experiences here at TKC but my fondest memories were testing for my 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Degree Black Belts. Those are experiences and memories that can never be taken away from me. I earned my 3rd Degree Black Belt October 20, 2007. Shortly after that I had a little meeting with Master Fariborz. The outcomeme becoming an instructor.
This is by far one of the best things that I could have done for myself. I truly enjoy teaching. I teach juniors, teens, and adults. From teaching these three age groups, I have learned how to change my teaching methods for different learning environments.
Mr. Fariborz has a story in which he entitles, The Game, and in this story he says, at 3rd Degree Black Belt, you realize that the game is never over. I have come to believe this and I believe my journey has only begun. Martial Arts has become a way of life for me, and there is much yet to come.

He always helps me if I get stuck
Student

Quiet Power: Though quick and strong on the mat whether grappling or executing one of his famous sweeps during a demo, he too is humble. He has the energy of youth but is modest (quiet) about his skills. Always happy to help out with classes. Keeps his students on their toes with constant activity.
