Martial Arts has always been a fascination for me. I never would have imagined my capabilities and growth in the physical, mental, and spiritual realms, until TKC. The door to unimaginable opportunity opened at Moorpark College when I took a beginning martial arts class with Miss Erin. She encouraged me to continue my training at the studio where she had trained. I am very grateful I listened to her encouragement. On arriving at TKC, I was met by a warmly smiling man and a request for commitment not only to martial arts, but also to myself. My journey to 1st degree back belt was combined with college courses, family emergencies, my own distractions, a part-time job, and then. many life growth experiences offered by Master Fariborz. As I was offered more opportunities at TKC, the word responsibility became inclusive with SWAT team, a job at the front desk, program director, black belt training, 1st degree black belt, and now assistant instructor. It has been a privilege to have been offered these amazing windows of opportunity, only to be opened with my efforts. One of my life's passions has been realized, however, the team approach, the continued training of the black belt, and upholding the honor of the back belt are now an everyday responsibility for me. I strive to use what I have learned from each of my instructors, improving my skills, learning how to teach, and in being of service to many, while continuing my college education.
