My 1st Degree Black Belt:
The weird or unique thing about my bio is that I dont really know a lot about myself. I am 12 years old and I am in the seventh grade. My parents got divorced when I was 3 so I can barley remember my childhood. So I usually try to see if my older sister Jordan knows but she usually doesnt.
When I first got to karate and I was a white belt I didnt even want to do karate, I wanted to do a girly sport like gymnastics or cheerleading, not karate.
When my grandfather died something in me clicked and I just became a mean person, I was so bad that my parents tried to get me into counseling multiple times. It never helped. Anyway I started getting better this summer. Now I try to stay positive all the time.
I am good at sports only the one that dont have to do with kicking a ball or hitting one with a bat. I am also good at school things that are like math, science, and English sort of. My two worse subjects are history and P.E.
Now I am the type of person that likes to plan out my life. Such as I planned to go to Hale Middle School and I got there. Now I plan on going to Elcomino Real High and Yale for college.
I would like to thank Ms. Aaron, Mr. Ash, Mr. Fariborz, my sister Jordan, my Mommy, and my Dad. They have helped get to where I am now and that is getting my black belt. I am grateful for there encouragement and support.

My Mission Statement
I want to have a great personality. This means having a great deal of respect for others, being kind, and helping those who are in need. In theese years of taking karate I have been learning how to accomplish these things and to complete the goals that I have set for myself.
I want to be a nice gentle friend to others, but I also want to learn how to help and respect others ata the same time. Doing karate has helped me to learn and/or figuer out who I am so this test is like my final task to find out if I"m a fake or if this is really me so thank you for helping me find who I really am ( ; P.S. if you dont know what that is it"s a face winking at you.
My Essays
Hi Mr. Fariborz it"s Amber. I think I deserve to get my black belt because I try my best to learn everything. Most of my time I think about what I can do to become a better person in karate, my life, and my lifestyle as well. I also do my best to keep my grades up and to keep a possative atittude. Getting my black belt is one of the hardest things for me to persue. My black belt is the highest goal that I"ve set for myself, besides the rope. Getting my black belt is mainly the only big goal that I have set for myself, so if I acctually get the black belt I would think that , that was the biggest accompleshment in my life so far. But I can not do that on my own I would need help and support too. So if you would help me more that would be great.
Thank you for everything!
My Letters of Recommendations
This is to recommend Amber to take the test for the Black Belt. She has been taking lessons for 6 or 7 years and I have seen the steady progress that she has made.Amber"s interest in karate has steadily grown over the years. She has proved that she is prepared for the next step in her training by showing a continued interest in the classes under sometimes challenging circumstances.
I believe that Amber is ready and prepared for the next challenge.
Sincerely,
Vera Moffett
Amber Moffett has been attending instruction at Team Karate Centers for many years now. Over this period of time, she has grown physically, mentally, and spiritually with some of that growth influenced by her time spent at TKC.
The instruction at TKC has involved Amber in many lessons that she has used not only in class but outside the class as well. She has learned self discipline, commitment, and respect of others. These are definately important attributes needed in everyday life, and she has demonstrated that she uses these as well as others within and outside of the Dojo. Her self growth and motivation to strive for the black belt ebbed and flowed since she signed her commitment form, but she is now excited to have reached the level to become a black belt candidate. She now shows more motivation and discipline to practice in order to acheive her goal of obtaining the black belt.
In closing, I write this letter of recommendation for Amber to be given the opportunity to attempt to achieve her black belt. With her hard work and determination, it would be a great lesson teaching her that she can do anything as long as she is disciplined, determined and committed.
Thank you,
Stuart Moffett
