My 1st Degree Black Belt:

Hi my name is Mandonna. I was born in Canada. I am 12 years old. My family, especially my Mom, Dad and sister have supported me in my journey to becoming a black belt. I love TKC! Its like my life, its so much fun and this is where my black belt journey begins. Becoming a black belt has meant many years of training. I started TKC when I was 6 years old. That was 6 years ago; wow how fast the time flew.
I love all my teachers from the beginning years to now. TKC has many wonderful instructors who have helped me toward my goal of achieving my black belt. Thank you Master Fariborz, Mr. Ash, Ms. Erin, Mr. Reza, and Mr. Faramarz and every instructor and all students whom I worked with for all your support and help.
My journey throughout this year began when we all became a team at the first qualification, 1st pre test, 2nd pre test, and 3rd pre test. We all worked as a team to get to graduation. I just wanted to say another thank you to my mom for waking me up and waking up herself every Saturday and Sunday mornings to get everything ready for me and getting me to my classes on time. I am happy to be a member of the 2009-2010 team Makoto.
Yes, there were times when I wanted to quit but my mom was very persistent and brought me to my classes. The secret is not to Quit. I learned that. It has been many years of hard work, motivation, discipline and focus. Thank you TKC for teaching me the art of karate and helping me with my dream and chance of becoming a black belt.
A black belt is a commitment forever! I will continue my training and learning.

My Mission Statement

I will try my best everyday to help the environment and be nicer to people. Even if I have struggles, I will try to get rid of them. I promise to myself a happier and more caring life. I will try to confront myself with my problems. I know that I can be honest to myself and fellow members of the world. I KNOW THAT WHO I AM DOES MAKE A DIFFERENCE..I will try my hardest to know who I am and not be somebody else. I promise to get up every morning and make my bed and kiss my mother.

My Essays

I believe that I deserve a black belt because I have been attending karate for several years and I know that a black belt means to work hard, sweat but enjoy at the same time. I love doing something that I care about which makes me feel like a star. I believe that I deserve it because I make all attempts to learn every single thing for my black belt test. I believe that I know everything from white belt to qualification and beyond because I am ready. I deserve it because years of practice and training and I finally found the year that I want to test for black belt.
I deserve my black belt because I know in my heart that I am a black belt and I know everybody and I have been staying at karate for extra hours practicing karate and drills and performance in the studio and outside of the studio. I also deserve a black belt since I have been journaling almost every time that I have access to the internet.
I deserve my black belt because I come to karate class everyday with joyful energy and leave class with extremely fun energy. A black belt is a stripe of life and I deserve that because I am joyful, exited and happy that I am a candidate for this years black belt. I journal, I log my running time and am having a great time with the other candidates. Thats why I deserve my black belt.
Thank you for your consideration.

I believe a Black Belt means all the belts combined and it forms into a heart filled up with memorable journeys of fun quests. A black belt means NOT QUITTING and getting something with an effort that said go and dont QUIT. A black belt is a journey it took me from white to red and going through testing and knowing my front kick compared to a sidekick. A black belt means doing something that you love and shows energy, support, kindness, helping, and working hard to achieve a goal I have been waiting and hoping for. A Black stripe on a belt means that youre dedicated to becoming a black belt. Spectacular is the word for black belts and its great because a black belt is a commitment and knowing that I will complete my mission. Black to me is 1 million words and colors because it cant describe how good and cool the color is filled with magical surprises.
A black belt to me is a huge surprise because we dont know whats coming up next. White is a lighter color so black is a darker color so its higher and higher which means harder. It makes me happy every time I look at my belt because that means I am closer to my black belt and my mission will be accomplished. I will always remember that black belt means NO FEAR, OR BEING A BABY its winning gold medal of love and life.
A black belt is the most important thing to me right know because I have been learning karate for so long and I believe in myself that I have what it takes and know all of my curriculum and karate techniques. I will be honored to receive my black belt my gold medal. I love my parents, family and karate teachers by telling me that I can do it and the support that they have shown to me in getting my Black Belt!!!!!!

Throughout the years, I have watched Mandonna learn martial arts. TKC has taught her confidence and self esteem. She has grown in to a stronger young lady, able to defend herself by using karate techniques such as kicks, punches, blocks and other skills that are not commonly known to the regular individual. Karate has also taught her discipline and patience. Mandonna has developed respect for TKC and Karate. She perceives it not only as self-defense, but as an Art.
She is working hard in perfecting her technique in order to be ready for the qualification. Mandonna has developed strong and close friendships with her teammates and teachers. I recommend her as a TKC 2009 Black Belt Candidate.
By being a part of such a strong group of dedicated instructors, in addition to strong Black Belt students and black belt candidates, she will receive the help and genuine support in order to get her black belt this year.
Thank you.
Shiva Razi
